Biography
Dr. Michiel Boog is a researcher at the Erasmus University Rotterdam and Ready for Change (an addiction clinic in Rotterdam). At the Erasmus University Rotterdam, he is affiliated with the Clinical psychology group at the Department of Psychology, Education and Child Studies. He is a member of Center for Addiction and Substance Use Research (https://cesarresearch.nl/). Michiel's research focuses on substance use disorders and personality (disorders). He is committed to conducting research that is clinically relevant. Next to his research, Michiel works as a clinician.
Michiel is a licensed clinical psychologist and psychotherapist. For many years, he has provided (group) therapy for patients suffering from drugs and alcohol use disorders and pathological gambling. In research and therapy his attention was drawn to co-morbid personality disorders.
Research interests: substance use disorder, personality (disorder), impulsivity, schema therapy
