Bachelor Honours Class

Current facets (Pre-Master)

Erasmus School of Economics offers her best performing and most dedicated students the opportunity to participate in the Bachelor Honours Class. This programme is designed to provide extra challenges in addition to the regular curriculum. The programme prominently aims at inviting a diversity of speakers and organizing a variety of challenging meetings and workshops. We believe that this enhances the critical thinking of our students and enforces them to create different mind-sets. The goal of the programme is to deepen and broaden its students’ economic knowledge, stimulate their personal development, and increase their academic skills. The Bachelor Honours Class programme takes place in the second year of the bachelor.

The programme

The Bachelor Honours Class programme consists of a number of elements, namely two theme cycles, a paper writing cycle, a cultural programme, and co-creation. A theme cycle challenges the students to dive deep into a topic by reading thought-provoking books, attending interactive guest lectures, and visiting relevant institutions or companies. During the paper writing cycle, students perform their very own research and write an academic paper on this research. The students will present their papers at the Final Congress at the end of the programme, and there are prizes to be won!

The cultural programme consists of visits to interesting and inspiring cultural institutions or events, predominantly in Rotterdam. With the co-creation part, students are enabled to create a part of the programme themselves by, for example, writing a case, editing the yearbook, organizing visits to institutions or companies of their choice, and organizing workshops, among others.
