Inaugural lecture of Vardit Landsman

On Friday, 14 February 2020, Dr. Vardit Landsman will publicly accept her appointment as Professor Quantitative Marketing Strategy in the Department of Business Economics at Erasmus School of Economics with a lecture entitled ‘A Chasm to Cross: From Research to Practice and Back’.
In this lecture she will discuss the increasing divide between academic research in quantitative marketing and practice. She will review the potential sources leading to this divide as well as possible solutions to bridge it.
About Vardit Landsman
Vardit Landsman, who first joined Erasmus School of Economics in November 2006 as a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Business Economics, has a Ph.D. in Marketing, an MSc with honours in Operations and Decision Research, and a bachelor degree in Economics and Management, from Tel Aviv University. Before obtaining her Ph.D. she worked as a consultant in a strategy and marketing consulting firm and as head of a data-base and customer research team in a big Israeli bank.
Her research interests involve the choices of consumers and their reactions to firms’ strategies. In particular, her research agenda includes the analysis of consumers and firms in the context of innovation.
Vardit Landsman is coordinating the Innovation in Marketing course (Bachelor Minor) and the Development and Marketing New Products seminar (Master Program).
