First online ESSB alumni event

Alice Dietrich

On Thursday 10 December all ESSB alumni were invited for the first (online) alumni event. During this event, Dr Paraskevas Petrou answered the question: do employees who increased their creativity at work experience an advantage in their well-being, learning and development? The ESSB alumni officer also presented the new initiative for an ESSB alumni board. Of course, there was also time for alumni to catch up.

Lecture dr. Paraskevas Petrou

Paraskevas Petrou obtained his PhD in employee adaptation to organizational change and works now as assistant professor as part of ESSB’s Organizational Psychology team. Some of the questions he has been researching are: What is the right balance between work and leisure? How can employees best adapt to their changing jobs and to their changing organizations? What are the benefits of taking initiative and proactively improving one’s (working) life?

ESSB Alumni board

Alumni indicate that they would like to remain involved with the faculty. Professors also like to maintain a relationship with their students, even after graduation. To promote and maintain this contact, the ESSB alumni board will be established in 2021. This board will have room for alumni from all four disciplines of public administration, pedagogical sciences, sociology and psychology.
