George Hendrikse is a professor of the Economics of Organisations at the Department of Organisation and Personnel Management, Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM).

His teaching and research addresses the organization of enterprises. Important themes are the ownership of enterprise (with an emphasis on cooperatives), organizational design, governance, collective decision making, delegation, remuneration schemes, selection, coordination, and cognition.

Professor Hendrikse is the founder of eRNAC (eResearch Network Agricultural Cooperators) and scientific director of eRNAC Netherlands. He is director of the Erasmus Center of Cooperatives (ECC) and co-organizer of the bi-annual EMNET-conference (…

George Hendrikse is a professor of the Economics of Organisations at the Department of Organisation and Personnel Management, Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM).

His teaching and research addresses the organization of enterprises. Important themes are the ownership of enterprise (with an emphasis on cooperatives), organizational design, governance, collective decision making, delegation, remuneration schemes, selection, coordination, and cognition.

Professor Hendrikse is the founder of eRNAC (eResearch Network Agricultural Cooperators) and scientific director of eRNAC Netherlands. He is director of the Erasmus Center of Cooperatives (ECC) and co-organizer of the bi-annual EMNET-conference (Economics and Management of NETworks). He has written 14 books, published over 100 articles in the leading journals in the field, and supervised 13 PhD thesises.

Before joining RSM, Professor Hendrikse was an assistant and then associate professor at the University of Tilburg. He became a full professor at RSM in 1996.

During his career he has held visiting positions at the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands, the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium, the University of California at Berkeley in the USA, Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China, the University of Missouri at Columbia in the USA, and the University of Bocconi in Italy.

He studied business econometrics at the undergraduate level at Tilburg University in the Netherlands and obtained his PhD degree in economics at the University of Pittsburgh in the USA.
