Biography
Marjolijn Das is an endowed Professor of Urban Statistics within the Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Centre for BOLD Cities. She also works as a senior statistical researcher at Statistics Netherlands (CBS). Her key research interest is the interaction between people and their social (urban) environment. She has publications on mobility in the life course, geographical family networks, the influence and proximity of family, urban geography and spatial inequality. She is an expert on the large scale register data of CBS and has extensive experience with quantitative social research using register data and surveys. Marjolijn Das did her PhD at Utrecht University on social behaviour and conflict management in primates.
Research interests: mobility, urban geography, family networks, family influences, spatial and socio-economic inequality.
Onderzoeksinteresses: verhuisgedrag, stadsgeografie, familienetwerken, invloed van familie, ruimtelijke en sociaaleconomische ongelijkheid.
