To increase scale, and so transplant opportunities, kidney exchange programmes are looking to cooperate with one another. However, mechanisms for such cooperations must take into account possible manipulation by participants.
In this talk, I discuss possible agent strategies, highlighting 'rejection' strategies made possible through the KEP setting, where agents only act after a solution is proposed. Next, I propose mechanisms that counter this strategy.
Experiments will show these mechanisms also make hiding information by agents, a more traditional manipulation strategy, much less effective. The most effective of the proposed mechanisms requires solving a complex bi-level optimisation problem, allowing us a short algorithmic detour during the talk.
