During the Take-Off, you will get acquainted with your study programme, the School and your fellow students. You will also be asked to watch a few introduction videos at a time that suits you. In those videos, you will receive practical information about studying at Erasmus School of Economics, the university systems and life on campus and in the city. By the end of the day, you will be well prepared to begin your academic journey.

Duration of the Take-Off

The ESE Take-Off takes place on Campus Woudestein and usually runs between 09:00 and 18:00.For some students, the day may continue with an optional activity organised by a study association.

These activities can take place after 18:00 and are a great opportunity to meet fellow students in a more informal setting. If this applies to your programme, it will be indicated in your schedule in August. Please note that these activities may also take place at a location outside the campus.

What to expect

The programme of the Take-Off consists of several components designed to help you get started with your studies. Throughout the day, you will attend an introduction session led by the academic director of your master specialisation, where you will receive important information about your programme and expectations for the academic year.

You will also receive practical information about studying at Erasmus School of Economics, the university systems and life on campus and in the city. Depending on your programme, the day may include additional sessions or a social activity organised by the study association.

Programme and schedule

The full programme, including times and locations of all sessions, will be published on this page in August. You can find the schedule for all plenary information sessions below. The schedule for meeting your mentor group will follow on a later moment. Please note:

  • To introduce you to Erasmus School of Economics and studying in Rotterdam, there are introductory videos available via Canvas. Please watch these videos before the Take-Off.
  • Participation in the Take-Off is mandatory
  • Make sure to arrive on time and follow the programme as indicated in your schedule
  • Please bring your student number, as you will need it during the day

Please check your schedule carefully once it is available, and make sure to review it again shortly before the Take-Off, as minor changes may occur.
