Hurray! Erasmus MC ranked 40th in the World University Rankings 2018 by The Times, London! The Times Higher Education compared 1000 top universities around the world, in the field of clinical, pre-clinical and health.
The Times uses criteria like education, research and knowledge transfer, and a large part of the scores is based on reputation-surveys. Traditionally, Erasmus MC scores high on citation impact and research reputation.
The medical top institutes on the European mainland are, according to this ranking, to be found in Stockholm (Karolinska, 15th) Heidelberg (30th), München (two institutes: 25th and 46th), Rotterdam, Leuven (43) and Amsterdam (48).

While we’re at it: the British ranking was published shortly after the ranking of US News & World Report, in which Erasmus MC is ranked 27th! And the Keuzegids, which independently compares the quality of all study programmes, has given two Erasmus Bachelor programmes a quality seal: Liberal Arts and Sciences and Philosophy are among the best in the country!
