Project Description
There is a large literature that documents that worsening economic conditions are associated with reduced mortality and improved health. However, less is known about whether individuals adjust their health care behavior. The goal of this project is to investigate whether individuals changed their consumption of health care during the recent economic crisis and whether those changes were associated with differential budget cuts across countries.
