TSA2 – thermosensory measurement
The EBL also has an advanced precision temperature control system (TSA2). With this equipment, both hot and cold stimuli can be applied to a participant's skin via a thermode. In this way, the researcher can expose the test subject to different sensations, to establish a person's pain threshold, for example. This might be used in stress research.
TSA2 Specs
- An advanced thermosensory stimulator by Medoc Medical Systems, delivered with a CHEPS thermode.
- The TSA2 equipment can be used for accurate regulation of the stimulation temperature with fast thermal stimulation speeds up to 13°C/sec.
- With TSA2, you can develop dynamic protocols using MATLAB and similar platforms.
- The system supports conditioned pain modulation and other advanced protocols.
