Organisational Dynamics in the Digital Society

The nature of crowd work and its effects on individuals’ daily wellbeing
Robotic Surgery - Organisational Dynamics in the Digital Society

Description research project

The on-demand nature of crowd work is characterised by low cost, increased anonymity, and minimal institutionalisation. Proponents have argued its potential for upward mobility as crowd work offers additional income opportunities, whereas critics have expressed concerns about the consequences of minimal recruitment and labor costs.

Few studies systematically examined the perception of working conditions as experienced by crowd workers. To address the scarcity of this research, this project uses classic psychological job design models as a framework to assess daily demands, resources, and wellbeing of crowd workers.
