Academic Skills

At EUC we highly value academic skills, which we believe will benefit the careers of our graduates. Academic skills are therefore an integral part of our Academic Core programme and will be further built upon during more specialised academic skills courses as students’ progress through their three years at EUC.

In your first year, you will follow a horizontal skills line as part of your Academic Core. During the different courses that make up this horizontal skills line, you will learn an interdisciplinary, integrative, and coherent set of tools (e.g., academic writing skills, critical thinking skills, qualitative and quantitative research skills, presentation skills, project development skills) that can be applied directly in subsequent content courses and which are valuable throughout the life time. The horizontal skills line will accumulate in a basestone project at the end of your first year at EUC.

Depending on your major, in your second and third year you will learn more advanced skills embedded in content courses and you will take skills courses that could help you further with doing research in your field of interest, ultimately resulting your capstone at the end of your third year at EUC.

For more information about these skills courses, please consult the EUC Course Catalogue.
