March 28, 2013, 12.00-14.00 hours, room T3-02: CHC research meeting with Dr. Herman Paul (Leiden University). He will present one of his chapters of the new textbook he is preparing about the theory of history and historiography. Dr. Berber Bevernage (University of Ghent) will deliver a comment on the paper.
Herman Paul (1978) teaches historiography and philosophy of history at Leiden University. He also holds a special chair in secularization studies at the University of Groningen. His most recent book publications are Hayden White: The Historical Imagination (2011), Het moeras van de geschiedenis: Nederlandse debatten over historisme (2012), and a co-edited volume entitled Hermeneutics and the Humanities: Dialogues with Hans-Georg Gadamer (2012).
