Students Sonia Shvets and Themis Rallis are the hosts of the Opening Academic Year on Monday 3 September. Last year, the academic ceremony was presented for the first time by a student. The two students were selected from the nearly thirty students who had registered.
Russian Sonia Shvets (19) has been studying International Business Administration at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University since last year. She attended a actors course during her high school period, led workshops at Erasmus University as part of the Lead Your Future program and is now Events Manager for the student association Women’s Business Network.
Themis Rallis (22), from Greece, is a master student in Econometrics & Management Science (MSc) at Erasmus School of Economics (ESE), specializing in Quantitative Finance. He previously obtained a Masters in Astrophysics from the University of Edinburgh.
Selection
Following a call to all students, almost thirty students registered for the position of student host during the Opening Academic Year. Twelve of them were invited for an audition. Last year, Mayeul de Kerros was the first student to present the Opening Academic Year.
