Anoek Menten-Degeling is an organisational anthropology graduate and the Quartermaster Research at DIT. She has worked at Erasmus University and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in roles varying from research support and thesis supervision to project administration and communication. Having experienced this academic environment for a while, Anoek thinks that universities institutionally need to step up and be willing to change the way they organise themselves and the way academic work is done in order to take up a more active, open and valuable role in society. The DIT platform contributes to that by providing a platform to those who are already putting in the effort to get there, supporting those people (whether they are students, academics, or support staff) and creating a space to experiment and learn together.

At the DIT platform, Anoek works with DIT academics on research-related activities. This ranges from creating academic ecosystems around transformative research and education to design and sustainability, signalling funding opportunities, supporting research projects, to organising conversations around transformative change and transdisciplinarity at Erasmus University and international academic workshops. Outside of work, Anoek enjoys exploring the historical city centre of Dordrecht, birdwatching, playing boardgames and videogames, and going to concerts.
