Biography
Marjan Gorgievski-Duijvesteijn is Associate Professor at the Department of Work and Organizational Psychology at the Erasmus University Rotterdam.
With a Ph.D. in Occupational Health Psychology, my aim is to contribute to the development of healthy and engaging work environments in which people thrive, grow and collaborate to contribute to the success of their teams and organizations.
My current fields of interest include Psychology of Entrepreneurship and Positive Organizational Psychology. My research focus has been on investigating reciprocal relationships between entrepreneurs’ wellbeing and business performance. More recently, my attention has shifted to investigating the multilevel relationships between entrepreneurial leadership and employees’ job design, innovativeness and strategic proactive work behavior. I investigate under what circumstances proactive behavior is beneficial for individual growth and well-being and when it might be detrimental.
Major characteristics of my research are employing a multi-level and longitudinal approach in order to capture dynamic interactions between variables on different levels of investigation, such as on the level of individual employees, business owners, business characteristic and characteristics of the business environment. Much of my research has a cross-cultural component.
