International Bachelor in Psychology

The bachelor's programme in Psychology at Erasmus University Rotterdam is truly international, with a diverse student population and an inclusive classroom climate.

Studying abroad*

Studying abroad is a unique opportunity to develop yourself and learn about other cultures. Moreover, you will be able to compare different educational and academic cultures. Studying at one of our (exchange) partner universities is a wonderful experience that does not need to be complicated, expensive, or delay your studies. This programme encourages you to spend a term (the first part of year 3) outside the Netherlands in the third year.

*Kindly note that participation is subject to a selection process, as the number of available spots is limited. More info will be shared during your studies.

Internship

The Psychology programme has a scientific character and is focused on practice simultaneously. For example, you will regularly partake in experiments as a test subject. You will learn the phases of scientific research and train your practical skills. For instance, you will practice communication and presentation skills, conduct psychological tests, and design research with academic rigour. Doing a practical internship is not a part of the bachelor's programme. However, you can do an internship as part of one of our master's programmes abroad, including in your home country. You could gain practical experience at an institute for mental healthcare, conduct neuropsychological research at an academic hospital, or work with children with behavioural and/or learning problems.

Erasmus Honours Programme

Besides the regular programmes, EUR annually offers two exclusive programmes to talented bachelor students. The Erasmus Honours Programme enables ambitious students to encounter fascinating and current themes from other fields of study. Renowned scholars from several disciplines challenge honours students to look beyond the boundaries of their field. Read more about the Erasmus Honours Programme here. Besides the Erasmus Honours Programme, the Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural sciences (ESSB) also has its own honours class, which enables 75 ambitious students to gain experience conducting research under the supervision of academic ESSB staff members.

Cedo Nulli: I yield to no one

This is a famous saying of Desiderius Erasmus and the name of the study association of the Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences. Cedo Nulli organises activities in both Dutch and English, such as lectures, workshops, conferences, study trips and of course parties and drinks. Each year, Cedo Nulli also participates on behalf of the Erasmus University Rotterdam in the National Model United Nations New York conference. You can also attend our study groups for free if you are a member. Furthermore, becoming an active member or board member and gaining organisational and managerial experience is also possible.

See Cedo Nulli for more information.
