  • The Brain and Development Research Center is an alliance in which research is conducted into changes in the brain that underlie the making of decisions and social behavior of young people.

  • The Consortium on Individual Development (CID) is a consortium of researchers from seven institutes with different disciplines. The interdisciplinary consortium aims to investigate how the interaction between a child's characteristics and environmental factors can determine individual differences in social competence and behavioural control.

  • The Growing Up Together In Society (GUTS) consortium is a unique, interdisciplinary collaboration between researchers from eight Dutch universities. Together they have the mission to understand how young people grow up in a complex society.

  • The European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction (EARLI) is an international scientific community with the aim of supporting an active research culture in the field of learning and education. Within the EARLI, the SYNC Lab cooperates with the Neuroscience & Education group.

  • The European Association of Developmental Psychology (EADP) aims to promote research on development, support young researchers, stimulate information exchange and promote excellence. Within the EADP, the SYNC Lab cooperates with the Early Researchers Union.

  • The LOKAAL Rotterdam Foundation was founded in 1994 by the Rotterdam City Council with the aim to reduce the distance between Rotterdammers and municipal politics and to improve the relationship between the inhabitants of Rotterdam and their city government.

  • The InnovatieExpo 2021 is the inspiring meeting place where inventors, implementers and policy makers can work together on innovative solutions.

  • Flux Society & Trainee committee is a place where researchers, doctors and teachers can exchange knowledge about the development of the human brain.

  • OpenMR Benelux is an open science community of researchers and professionals who stimulate knowledge exchange for people working in MRI research.

  • Ammodo stimulates art and science. Together with renowned partners, Ammodo initiates, develops and supports groundbreaking projects within the visual arts, performing arts and fundamental science.

  • Charge your Brainzzz 2.0, an interdisciplinary research project of the VU University Amsterdam, with the aim of stimulating healthy sleep behavior among young people.
