Academic leadership

As a scientist you face an ever increasing demand to manage various activities in the fields of research and education. With this you may face a responsibility for the results and team spirit of fellow scientist as well, while you may also be expected to stand for and/or add to the strategic goals of your School or Institute. To equip you as a (future) leader for this demanding and expansive task Erasmus University offers the Academic Leadership course.

This course is designed to give insight into your personal leadership style and to help you further develop it. You will also be trained and coached in effective communicative skills.

Besides this, you will be offered blocks about HR, Finance and Valorisation. The course program alternates between theory and practice, individual coaching and peer supervision. Attention is given to personal learning objectives and questions from other participants.

Participation in this course is considered a qualification for management, as proscribed in the EUR criteria for the academic functions of associate professor and full professor.
