Canvas portfolio for the course Communication Technology and Impacts (IBCoM)
Together with the CLI, the project leader is looking to explore a way to incorporate a creative portfolio in Canvas for the first-year students in my Communication Technologies and their Impacts course, as a way to assess them throughout the course instead of having a final exam in the end.
Goal
The goal of the innovation is the following: a creative gamified portfolio will enable tracking students learning process more clearly throughout the term, it will force students to change their learning strategy, read the course materials before the tutorials and to tap into their creative potential – creativity should be the central focus point of the assessment method. At the same time it should lower the working load for teaching staff at the end of the course, leaving them more room for preparing the courses for next term and research activities.
Results
When the project has been evaluated, the results will be published.
