Container ports have to compete to favour shipowners

Pieter Hartog says that currently 'The performance of the terminals on 'Maasvlakte II' is still too whimsical', which is exactly what shipowners dislike. Reliability is a key word. 

Our alumnus Pieter Hargot, Director APMT Rotterdam, is currently challenged by the tought times for container ports. Even though Rotterdam Port has a huge advantage to Hamburg and Antwerp because of its accessibility. His current objective is to improve the performances of APMT's terminal in 'Maasvlakte II'. It is said to be the most automated terminal of the globe, however, due to softwareproblems has yet to function as it should.
