ISS wants to incorporate more online education and a larger online presence in general to attract potential students. One of the ways to do this is to create full online courses and offer parts of the course material outside ISS as well. The course ‘International Trade and Investment Policies for Sustainable Development’ was redesigned and developed with help of CLI and started in January 2022. Furthermore, a MOOC with the same subject is under construction. The videos created for the MOOC are already being used in the actual ISS Course.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development recognizes international trade as an engine for inclusive economic growth and poverty reduction, and as an important means to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The online course ‘International Trade and Investment Policies for Sustainable Development’ is aimed at giving students a thorough understanding of the key theoretical foundations and policy debates in international trade and investment for sustainable development. The focus is on research-led policy-relevant approaches that enable students to better understand national, bilateral, and multilateral cooperation as well as policies for sustainable development.
