Back to overview

Anne-Kathrin Klesse joined Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University in October 2016. She obtained her PhD from Maastricht University and then joined Tilburg University as an Assistant Professor in Marketing in 2012. As part of her PhD, she spent some time as a visiting student researcher at Stanford Graduate School of Business.

In her research, Anne-Kathrin studies consumer decision making and, for instance, explores the effect of expression modalities (e.g., whether consumers express a decision by speaking or button pressing) on consumer choice and judgment; for this research stream she was awarded the VENI grant in 2015. Further, she is interested in the effect of language (native versus foreign), choice restrictions (e.g., through dieting or being poor), feelings of power, and customization on decision processes and outcomes.

Her research has been published in journals such as Journal of Consumer Research and International Journal of Research in Marketing.

She will teach Marketing Beyond Borders: Managing Cross Cultural Challenges.
